I love pizza! Probably a lot of people can relate to that, but I'm seriously obsessed with this dish. There are not many places that serve it properly, most of the times the dough is too soggy, or too thin, or there's not enough cheese. That's why I set one of my goals to find the best pizza dough recipe.
Even though the ingredients list contains only 5 very basic items, that can be easily found in every kitchen, it's all about the technique. I discovered, that the key to an amazing oven pizza, is to use the pizza stone. It's definitely worth to invest in the stone, as it's also great for other yeast based baking goodies. With the following recipe, you can achieve a great taste even without the stone, but baking with the stone makes the dough perfectly crusty on the outside and soft inside.
Another reason to love pizza, is that you can basically put anything on it! Any kind of topping you love will fit perfectly to the overall taste explosion. My favorite combination is shrimps with pineapple, but I also like experimenting with other tastes, and adding some extras like for example arugula, feta and chili.
I usually don't have time to prepare the sauce, so I'm choosing a little bit lazy, but still delicious solution: ketchup or tomato concentrate with Herbes de Provence and garlic. I'm going to share with you later a great recipe for the pizza sauce, if you have some spare time, make more and pasteurize it the jars for later use.
